Native Spirit Festival began over the weekend starting two weeks of films raising awareness of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas.
Many London venues are hosting free film screenings and discussions, although a donation to Native Spirit is much encouraged, so be generous folks.
Elsewhere the British Library has a day of films next Saturday as part of Black History Month.
And if that hasn't given you square eyes even more films are being shown for free this week in Trafalgar Square as part of the London Film festival.
The O2 is having it's first crack at a free festival since it's corporate spruce up when the 'unmistakable sounds, sights, tastes and styles of New Orleans are set to descend on London.' Festival New Orleans runs from Friday to Saturday with two days of performances, live music and exhibitions.
Meanwhile Dalston hosts This is Not a Gateway Festival over the weekend with 40 events including diiscussions, workshops, exhibitions and film screenings. For the full line up check here.
Starting Tuesday 21st a free exhibition on the South Bank has acclaimed fashion photographer Rankin showing a unique selection of portraits from Congo ’s war-zone entitled: From the catwalk to Congo.
As for a little bit of politics there will be a National Lobby of Parliament for the State Pension on Wednesday whilst on Tuesda,y Housmans Bookshop hosts an evenings dedicated to East End Radicals.
Finally on Sunday October Plenty takes place at Borough Market which includes a free performance of Canterbury Tales along with a lively procession, stalls and a celebration of apples.
